1.what is titanium dioxide?
Titanium dioxide, known as “industrial monosodium glutamate”, is considered to be the best white pigment in the world today. Its main component is titanium dioxide (TiO2). Because of its high refractive index, excellent covering rate and coloring rate, it is widely used in coatings, plastics, ink, rubber, paper making and other fields.
2.the application of titanium dioxide
Coatings have always been the main source of consumption demand for titanium dioxide. In 2020, for example, coatings accounted for 61%; The second place is plastic, accounting for nearly two percent, accounting for 18 percent; The third place is papermaking, accounting for 10%; Other industries, including ink, rubber and perfume powder, accounted for 11% of the total.
(Consumption proportion of titanium dioxide in 2020)
In 2020, China’s titanium dioxide production totaled 3.512 million tons, With the growth rate of commercial housing sales area turning from negative to positive in 2020 (from -0.06% in 2019 to 2.64% in 2020) at the same time, taking Guangdong, the largest coating production province in China, as an example, the growth rate of coating production has steadily increased with the recovery of the commercial housing market, and the trend is very similar to that of commercial housing sales area, from -39.9% in February 2020 to 2020.

3.Production and sales of titanium dioxide
① Strong overseas demand has greatly promoted the continuous rise of titanium dioxide prices. Since July 2020, the export volume of titanium dioxide in China has remained above 100,000 tons/month. The export volume from January to November 2021 totaled 1.178 million tons, up 6.7% year-on-year, and the average monthly export volume was 107,000 tons, accounting for 33.86% of the national total output. Take November alone as an example, the export volume of titanium dioxide increased by 10.06% year-on-year and 6.68% month-on-month. The average selling price was USD 2,984.86/ton, up 56.02% year-on-year and 2.29% month-on-month, showing an obvious increase in volume and price.

② The main types of exporting countries are mostly emerging developing countries, which are in the period of rapid development of domestic infrastructure construction, with India and Brazil being the biggest ones.

4.the characteristics of titanium dioxide
The performance of titanium dioxide can’t be replaced by other materials basically in the past.
However, after years of research and exploration by Huajing mica, we have mastered the new mica material, which can be used as a substitute product of titanium dioxide in the same category, replacing 20-30% of titanium dioxide, reducing the cost and not affecting the use effect. This is no less than a spring breeze for the related industries with the current epidemic situation and the global economy in a weak period.
