Liquid crystal polymer (LCP) with modified composite mica is an important material for 5G communication. its excellent heat and fire resistance will replace the E- cigarette material PEEK. In ChinaPlas 2019, Polyplastic showed an e-cigarettes material -- LCP. This LAPEROS LCP material is an important material for 5G high-speed connectors and base stations. It also used into heating and non-burning e-cigarettes smoking set due to high thermostability, fluidity and dimensional stability.
Why can LCP replace PEEK material ?
Both LCP and PEEK belong to engineering plastics series, they have same excellent properties ,such as high strength,modulus, thermostability, fire resistance,insulativity,chemical resistance, and so on
LCP density is 1.35-1.45g/cm3，1.27-1.33g/cm3
PEEK density is 1.32g/cm3
LCP decomposition temperature is 450℃，PEEK decomposition temperature is 560℃
LCP Flammability is grade UL94，UL94 V-0 standard（600℃）；PEEK Flammability is UL 94 V-0
The processing temprature :300-390℃，360-400℃ PEEK melting point is 334℃
Accoring to the comparation,LCP fire and heat resistance is similar with PEEK, but cheaper than PEEK. LCP could divided into LLCP and TLCP, TLCP is normal and it has different size-- I,II,and III since different molecular structure.
